Sunrise at the Rainforest

Good morning! I remembered my boots this time. It’s very foggy this a.m., moreso than it was yesterday.

Internet access sucks, BTW. But that’s supposed to be a good thing. Damnit, I WANNA WAX CATS!

On the other hand, Monica Valentinelli is AWESOME. She totally got what I was doing with Circle of Fire and encouraged me to trust my writing instincts. She also taught me a new term. Mosaic novel. That’s what I’ve got, and I just haven’t found the right readers for this.

So now I get to go back to the original pre-rainforest draft, incorporate the good changes I’ve made over the past few Rainforest Retreats, and fix the rest rather than trying to mush it into a single POV novel. I can haz my story bak naoh! YAY!

Wordcount progress: Card Game: 1993, COF: 6017, COF Prequel: 1547. Total: 9557

Oh, and I have stream / mini-waterfall videos I may post later just because. Depends on access.

  1. That looks like a most awesome location, I’m quite envious! That’s a pretty high word count for a card game, does that include card text or is that just the rules? I’ve designed a few and self-published one and have an interest in such. You might check out Daniel Solis’ blog if you don’t read it already, he does some pretty good design analysis.

  2. That word count is for rules, card descriptions, and a few notes. Thanks for the blog link. I’ll check it out.

My biggest issue will be finding an artist once I’m done designing it. I’m good at stick figures, but little else. And even I can’t compete with the Doghouse Diaries version of stick figures.
