SQL Saturday is coming, for reals this time. This morning I received an email with the finalized speakers’ schedule and promptly went into a panic when I realized I was out of business cards. DOH! So as I add that to my list of emergency items to order and prepare my deck for posting to the site, it occurs to me that I should, you know, tell everyone to get their butts over to Mammel Hall to hear people talk about all things SQL Server.

My SQL Saturday session starts at 10 a.m. in room 119, and I’m seriously thinking of just going to that room to start off with to hear Sudhir Gajre talk about “How to be DBA and retire rich”. Of course, there are so many cool things, it’s hard to pick just one session to follow. And after a day of crunchy learny stuff, there’s the really cool stuff raffle in which someone launches baloney into the audience and watches the rats scramble for the choicest bits. (Kidding). The raffle is a great place to win even more free training (classes that would ordinarily cost money), books, t-shirts, and free software. Me, I could use a copy of SQL 2012 to play with. @=)
If you’re in the area, stop on by. Registration is free and you can sign up the morning of the event. In addition, there are three precon training events at Blue Cross / Blue Shield nearby (these cost money) that you can attend.
Is there a better way to learn SQL Server than attending SQL Saturday? In some cases, yes. Is there a cheaper way to learn SQL Server than attending SQL Saturday? HA! No. So take some time and learn some technical tidbit that will turn your world inside out and resolve whatever mystery you’re currently having trouble with!
I look forward to seeing you there.
