Blog: A Review for Penumbra

I am bouncing with joy. Penumbra’s June issue finally got its Tangent Online review.

For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Penumbra eMagazine is a speculative fiction magazine put out by Musa Publishing that pays the minimum professional rate of 5 cents a word for poetry and short stories up to 3500 words. I was guest editor for the June Mythology-themed issue.

Tangent Online reviews Science Fiction and Fantasy magazines. Here is the review for “my” issue:

The key bit of the review that has me excited is this:

Overall, I’m impressed by Penumbra. How lovely to find a magazine of professional caliber that doesn’t fear humor, and is willing to boldly lead to where the others should be. If you’re wondering whatever happened to short fantasy that deserved the label ‘story,’ look no further.

I’m really thrilled by my chance to work on the magazine. And even more thrilled about … well, give me a few. I’m going to make a separate post about that.

See you on the flip side, folks!
