Well, I survived the Nebula weekend. Met lots of fun people. Laura Anne didn’t win her nebula, but Eugie did (good for her!). John Scalzi was nominated for at least two and didn’t win either. But the competition was fierce.

I asked Lee Martindale how subs for her Ladies of Trade Town anthology went only to find out the deadline hasn’t passed. She threatened to beat me about the head and shoulders with her cane if I didn’t get a sub in. Yikes! So much for a break. Still, her insistence is no guarantee of publication. If my story’s lousy, I’m sure she’ll reject it. But at least she’ll have a face to put with the name when I submit it now. Whee! More work!

I just updated my website with my new status. I also fixed my SQL Articles page and added my most recent presentation on JOINS and Aliases to the site.

I’m thinking of throwing my biblical horror short up on the page because I can’t seem to find a good home for it. I’ll confess this was spec work written for a very strange anthology. I got rejected, unfortunately. But the story is fairly decent, IMHO. It just doesn’t seem to have a home any place else. If anyone has thoughts on markets, I’d love to hear them. Otherwise, I might just stick the story on my webpage with a "Donate if you think that was worth it" button attached.

I’ve thrown a submission at the wall to teach a day long class prior to the Orlando SQL Saturday in October. It’ll be put up to the vote of attendees with about 4 or 5 other sessions. If you’re a SQL person and you need an intro class to T-SQL, please register at http://www.sqlsaturday.com  and vote for my session when you get the slip. I’ll be a very happy person.

Very tired now. Must go review other people’s work. Then finish my LoTT story. I know what I want to write. It’s figuring out the best place to start the story that I’m having trouble with.
