Journalism of today

I’m not a big fan of journalists. Nothing against them personally, but so many of them seem determined to put political spins on things just to get ratings or to rant at the public screaming "This person is stupid." I hate that kind of news. So whenever I encounter one of those over-opinionated personalities, I tend to turn them off even if the news they’re reporting is legitimate news.

If you don’t understand why this nonsense aggravates me, look up the term "yellow journalism." News is *not* the same thing as fiction.

Today, I found Gloria Borger on CNN.com, presenting an op-ed on President Obama. This article just blew me away. A journalist with common sense? Say it ain’t so! Whether you agree with her or not, her point is well made without the drama of bells and whistles.

Next time I see her work, whether on the net or on t.v., I think I’ll take a few moments out of my schedule to actually listen to what she has to say.
