Stories and SQL and other things

My New Year’s resolution was 2000 words a week. The past two weeks I have failed significantly. I could give all sorts of excuses, but only one counts. Right before I "fell off the wagon", I finished the last scene of my original novel. SET CHEER_MODE = ON!

Of course, I don’t like the ending. So now that I’ve had a chance to stew over things, I need to go back and do a re-write.

Ah, yes. The joys of being a perfectionist. @=)

In April, I’m talking to the Jacksonville SQL Server Users Group (http://jssug.com/) about Crystal Reports XI. It’s an hour long "how-to". If you’re in the area, like SQL Server and want to know some basics of integrating CRXI, stop on by. I’ve gotten pretty good at presentations.

In fact, I’ll also be applying to present at the Jacksonville SQL Saturday which comes up in May (I think). I just need to decide on session topics.

I’ve also updated my webpage with my livejournal account address and an email contact address for anyone who wants to send me mail. On my "Fiction Works" page, I’ve added a link to a Doctor Who article I wrote for SFUniverse.com back in January. Be warned. The article is NOT fiction. It’s just about fiction.

Busy bee that I am, I’m also finishing up reports for Family Foundations and just did a major system integration project for my current full time employer. Maybe I can take a little time off to do some fun stuff now.

Oh, and I’m heading to Pasadena in May for BotCon. If anyone is in the area or going to the convention, I’d love to meet up with you.

Enjoy your weekend.
